On this day in Music history May 6, 2002

On this day in history Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen was officially crowned the UK’s favourite single of all time in a poll by the Guinness Hit Singles.
A six-minute epic. No chorus. Operatic sections. Guitar solos.
And somehow… it became one of the most loved songs in history.
Written by the incomparable Freddie Mercury, "Bohemian Rhapsody" broke every rule in the book and rewrote them.
But the competition? Just as legendary…
🥈 Imagine by John Lennon a timeless anthem of peace.
🥉Hey Jude by The Beatles seven minutes of pure emotion and unity.
4️⃣ Dancing Queen by ABBA pop perfection on the dancefloor.
5️⃣ Like a Prayer by Madonna bold, controversial, and unforgettable.
This list isn’t just about hits it’s about moments. Songs that defined generations, soundtracked lives, and changed music forever.
📍 And once again it all circles back to London. On my Rock & Roll Walking Tour of London, we dive into the stories behind these iconic tracks from the studios where Queen pushed boundaries, to the streets where The Beatles reshaped the sound of the world.
You’ll stand where legends recorded, performed, and took the risks that gave us songs like "Bohemian Rhapsody" 🎸
So… do you agree with the UK’s verdict — or is there another song that deserves the crown? 👇
🎶 And that’s how music makes history.
