On this day 29th October 1987


On this day in history David Bowie played the first night of his 15 date Glass Spider Tour in Australia and New Zealand at the Boondall Entertainment Centre in Brisbane.


The Glass Spider Tour was launched in support of his 17th studio album "Never Let Me Down" and named after the album's track "Glass Spider". The financially successful tour comprised of 86 shows in total. and was seen by as many as six million fans worldwide.

Bowie was supported on this tour by his close friend from school days guitarist Peter Frampton. Frampton also played on the album.
