On this day in Music history 2nd April 1964

On this day in music history, The Beatles scored their fourth UK No.1 single with the unstoppable "Can't Buy Me Love" and the numbers behind it are just as incredible as the song itself.
With over 2.1 million advance orders, it smashed records before it had even hit the shops, becoming the highest pre-ordered single in UK chart history at the time. Written primarily by Paul McCartney and credited to the iconic songwriting partnership of Lennon & McCartney, the track was recorded in Paris at the famous Pathé Marconi Studios while Beatlemania was beginning to explode across the globe.
What makes Can’t Buy Me Love so special? Its raw, stripped-back energy, that unforgettable riff, and a message that still rings true today money can’t buy you happiness… but a Beatles record comes pretty close.
